"Just wanted to say a big thank you for the recent Botox and fillers you did on my face. I am truly over the moon with the result. When it comes to your face , you want to choose someone that you can trust - and that is you! You are so caring, honest, professional and so knowledgeable in your field of work. My cheeks, jawline and forehead are wrinkle free and looking so natural . I I will definitely be in for more and have already recommended you to family and friends!"

Nicola

"I have suffered restless nights, to constant neck aches for years.. After my first consultation followed by treatment of botox and PPR I began to feel all the benefits of lessening and eliminating my jaw clenching and grinding. I have also had botox for frown line prevention, my lip have been contoured, and my double chin has been tightened, banishing it from future selfies. Tab has not only given me back my sleep, but has given me the confidence everyone deserves to have. I would recommend Tab to anyone who needs an incredible doctor who actually cares, anyone who has muscle restriction issues like TMJ"

Samantha

"Every appointment with Dr Malik is a positive one. She makes you feel so comfortable, and explains everything in depth so that you understand everything. I had Botox in my TMJ to help with clenching and headaches, and it has helped so much. And to be honest, not really painful, which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend Dr Malik, so thankful I found her. "

Leearna

"Dr Tabinda has helped me so much. My dentist recommended her and they were not wrong. My jaw has felt 10 times better since having the dysport injections that Dr Tabinda recommended. I don't have pain anymore because the clenching has stopped since trying this. I also have had the dysport for excess hand sweating and my goodness, it was worth it! I have barely had any hand sweating since. The kindness and support that she shows me every time I am in, is so sweet. Highly recommend her "

Teeth Grinding and Clenching

TMJ disorder (also referred to as TMD) and bruxismare two different conditions that can both have a negative effect on the proper functioning of the mouth and oral health. People that suffer from bruxism grind their teeth. TMJ Disorder is a condition that involves pain and improper functioning of the muscles and joints that attach the lower jaw to the skull. Bruxism can be caused by TMD, but bruxism can in turn also cause or worsen TMD

You suffer from bruxism when you unconsciously grind your teeth. This usually occurs at night, though some people also grind their teeth during the day, often during stressful periods. While you might be unaware of your grinding, your dentist should notice signs of bruxism during regular visits. Symptoms of bruxism include:
• Abnormal teeth wear and chipped teeth
• Sensitive teeth caused by enamel wear
• Pain and tension in the jaw and ears
It’s difficult to diagnose the cause of bruxism, but often it is related to misalignment of the teeth, stress, or anxiety. Bruxism is a serious disorder that can lead to severe damage to the teeth and enamel, constant pain in the jaw and ears, and could even cause the loss of a tooth.

Symptoms of TMJ disorder are very similar to those of bruxism. They include:
• Pain in the jaw, ears or face
• Pain or tension in neck or shoulders
• Constant headaches
• Teeth grinding
Since both conditions have very similar symptoms and are often related, it is important to see a dentist who is trained in all aspects of TMJ disorder if you suffer from any of the TMD symptoms.

Treatments with Botulinum Toxin Type A., commonly known as botulinum toxin, can provide tremendous relief from jaw soreness, headaches, and other unpleasant problems associated with Bruxism. Botulinum toxin treatments for Bruxism can also soften the appearance of the jawline.
Recently, botulinum toxin has proven to be an ideal treatment option for targeting and treating excessive muscle activity and spasticity. Many other treatments, such as anti-inflammatory medications and dental devices, do not address the source of the problem.

Although botulinum toxin injections are not a cure for bruxism, they can effectively control the uncomfortable symptoms better than a night guard for some patients. Botulinum toxin used for treating bruxism typically lasts for three to four months.
The beauty of this procedure is that the muscles that are problematic, bulky, and overworking are trained to relax. This allows the jaw to eventually get to the position it wants to be in and not be forced into positions it doesn’t want to be in. The more you continue to re-train the muscle, the more it atrophies.
This is good in two ways. First, it helps reduce or stop deleterious habits to prevent damage. Secondly, the muscle atrophies or shrinks. This has benefit in that as the BOTOX wears off, the muscle is weaker and smaller, making it incapable of producing as much damage

Anti Wrinkle Injections

A few tiny injections of Botox cosmetic/disport relax the overactive muscles and soften these vertical lines. Injection in other areas improves the appearance of facial lines.

The solution is injected with a tiny needle into the muscle.

You should see the benefits develop over the next 2-14 days. A decreased appearance of frowning or creasing of other lines will be the result of this treatment.

The most common side effects are headache, redness and/or mild swelling at the injection site, temporary eyelid droop and nausea. Additionally, slight temporary bruising may occur at the injection site.

Aesthetic Fillers

• Lips
• Cheeks
• Chin
• Nasolabial folds
• Jaw line
• Mouth corners

Dermal fillers sometimes called soft tissue fillers, are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness

Dermal fillers contain certain ingredients like hyaluronic acid which will plump desired areas of the face that have lost volume due to aging. Each ingredient is designed to treat different signs of aging or other cosmetic issues.

Results will be seen instantly however mild swelling may occur. Full results should be seen in 1 week and last between 6 months to 2 years.

Your Dr will begin by examining the area, during this time. Desired results and expectations can be discussed. You will be advised of expected outcomes and given an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have or any potential side effects.

For your procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the area. Once completely numbed, Dr Malik will map out where the filler will be injected. A mild sting may be felt during injections and an icepack will be supplied upon request to further numb the area.

This procedure usually lasts between 45 minutes to 1hr.

Fat Dissolving Injections

Lipodissolve Fat Lipolysis is a non surgical injection therapy that removes fatty deposits that are resistant to diet or exercise. It is not a method of weight loss but rather a treatment for body sculpting or contouring. Many people have a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly but have soft fat in areas that are impossible to target for example, the neck area under the chin.

Lipodissolve Fat Lipolysis is a non surgical injection therapy. PPC (Phosphatidylcholine– a liquid lecithin product produced from soy beans) is used to inject the superficial fat layer. This substance causes the fat cell walls to dissolve, the fat is then eliminated by the body’s metabolic process. By reducing the number of fat cells in the area the amount of fat stored in the area is reduced.

The needles used are very fine so as to minimize discomfort. Immediately after the injection the area becomes warm, red and an uncomfortable prickling sensation is experienced. The level of discomfort can range from mild to intense depending on each individual’s response. This ache can last for minutes or a few hours. Swelling begins almost immediately after the treatment and is a normal response. Tenderness, swelling and a general numbness in the area can last a few days. Some bruising can also occur. All of these are normal responses following this procedure. Complicated pre- or post-treatment is unnecessary and the ability to work is not impaired. Clients can return to their daily duties after treatment, without the need of special clothing or apparatus.

The number of treatments depends on your body’s individual response to the treatment, generally, 2-4 treatments at 6-8 week intervals are ideal. Results are not immediate but are evident after 10 weeks. Many patients have confirmed that the slower rate of change they experience is positive as they are not confronted with the psychological effects of abrupt change in their physical appearance.

Lipodissolve Fat Lipolysis is NOT suitable for:
• those allergic to B group vitamins or soy beans
• diabetics
• those on warfarin
• pregnant or breastfeeding
• those with poor liver function
• certain auto-immune diseases such as dermatomyositis scleroderma,SLE

Cosmetic PRP - Vampire Facial

Cosmetic Platelet – Rich -Plasma (PRP) is a revolutionary cosmetic treatment that rejuvenates the skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
Also known as the “vampire facial” or “vampire facelift” has been made famous by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian. Having developed a following amongst celebrities in Hollywood and New York, the treatment is now available here in Australia!

A nurse will take your blood (like a standard blood test). The blood is then spun in a centrifuge too isolate the platelet rich plasma which contains a large concentration of growth factors and platelets integral to healing and regeneration.

The area to be treated is washed and local anesthetic cream is applied. The PRP is then injected directly into the area to be treated. This process takes approximately 60 minutes.

PRP contains a high proportion of cytokines, white blood cells and growth factors vital for the regeneration of tissue. Growth factors in the PRP stimulate cells called derma-fibroblasts, increasing their replication and production of collagen and elastin. These are responsible for the tissue strength and elasticity, which are often lost in aging.

PRP also stimulates adipocytes which are responsible for facial fullness and reduction of Naso-Labial folds and smile lines. The result is tissue growth, a reduction in wrinkles and a more youthful complexion

When compared to current mainstream cosmetic treatments, such as fillers and Botox, PRP differs in several ways.

It is natural and harmless, PRP is made from a sample of your own blood, without any additives, so there is no risk of an allergic reaction. PRP does not work by reducing the movement of the muscles of facial expression, so will not result in paralysis.

The effects last longer, while they may take several weeks to develop, they are known to last a lot longer than standard Botox or fillers.

Please drink plenty of water and eat healthily prior to treatment. Vitamin E and fish oil tablets should be avoided in the 2-3 days prior to your treatment as they may increase the risk of bruising.

If you are taking blood thinning medications E.G., warfarin, Pradaxa or Xeralto, you may also experience greater bruising. Please let us know if you are taking mentioned medications.

The full procedure may take between 15-45 minutes.

Often 2-3 treatments are advised, however, more or less may be necessary for some individuals. It is often recommended that treatments be done once a year after the initial group of treatments to continue regeneration and maintain or enhance the results.

Non-Surgical Threaded Face Lift

• Marionette lines
• Under the chin
• Cheeks
• Neck
• Tear troughs
• Nasolabial folds

Mono threads are small, smooth threads. They are not used to give lift by pulling therefore do not have any barbs or cogs.

They are small, smooth, flexible threads that are inserted between your skin. In the months after your procedure, the threads will start to dissolve and will stimulate the growth of collagen. The new collagen will leave you with firmer and thicker skin reducing the lines of fine, lines, wrinkles and dimples.

Your Dr will begin by examining the area, during this time desired results and expectations can be discussed.

For the procedure it is asked that you arrive free of makeup when possible. A topical numbing cream will be applied for half an hour before the insertion. The threads will be inserted via a cannula superficially in your skin.

Due to the threads being inserted superficially, there is a lessened risk of infection or nerve damage. If you have any immune dysfunction, high infection risk or history of keloid scarring, we do not recommend this treatment.

All treatments will require a consultation to discuss options with Dr Tabinda before the procedure can take place.

Hay Fever Treatment

Hay fever can be relieved with the use of botulinum toxin, this is most commonly known as a muscle relaxant by injecting Dysport into the muscle. Hay fever treatment is an easy effective way to eliminate symptoms that are caused by hay fever by blocking the conduction of nerve signals in the nasal passage which triggers the onset of symptoms.

Botulinum toxin hay fever treatment is suitable for anyone who wants a long-term solution to their hay fever symptoms. The benefit from this treatment is the lack of side effects that usually accompany a standard anti-histamine.

The Process is very quick and no discomfort is expected. The product will be sprayed into each nostril using a specifically designed atomiser. The process will not involve any needles or injections. The dose required will vary depending on the severity of your symptoms.

Post-treatment we ask if you could please refrain from using any nasal sprays or exercise for at least 4 hours following treatment.

Results will vary from one person to another. Typically, patients will start to notice results in the week or two following treatment.

Hyperhidrosis-Excessive Sweating

If excessive sweating has you constantly changing clothes, choosing clothes that won’t reveal sweat stains, or avoiding handshakes, then you may be one of many who are affected by Hyperhidrosis.

BOTOX® is a cosmetic and medical treatment prepared from the botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. BOTOX® works by blocking chemical signals that tell the sweat glands to activate, reducing the production of sweat in the treatment area.

• Effective: According to the International Hyperhidrosis Society, underarm BOTOX® injections can reduce sweating by 82%-87%.
• Versatile: BOTOX® injections can be prescribed to treat a variety of areas that can be affected by hyperhidrosis including:
o Underarms
o Hands
o Feet
o Back
• No Down Time: Although your practitioner will likely recommend that you avoid exercise and hot showers and baths for the remainder of the day, you are free to resume your normal activities right after your treatment

Treatment of hyperhidrosis is really quite simple. Most people see initial results in 5-7 days and the full effects of treatment are usually apparent after 2 weeks. BOTOX® hyperhidrosis treatment effects can last up to 5 months

Melasma

Melasma is a fairly common skin condition that creates the appearance of brown to gray-brown patches of skin, usually on the face. While the development of melasma symptoms is most common on the face, the darker patches of skin can also occur on the neck, forearms, and other areas, especially those that receive the most sun exposure. Melasma occurs as a result of the body producing too much melanin, the natural substance which provides pigmentation to our hair, skin, and eyes.

Treatment options may include using topical lighteners that are available in both prescription and over-the-counter dosages. These creams can be prescribed by Dr Taby after consultation.
Other treatments include micro-needling, laser skin lightening, and chemcial peels.

Whatever treatment plan you develop, it’s important for patients to understand that there is no such thing as an overnight cure for melasma. Any treatment option will take time to be effective, but if you commit to a treatment plan with Dr Taby and consistently follow this plan, you should see an improved appearance within a few weeks or months.

This treatment uses tiny needles to create punctures in the skin’s outer layers. The body’s healing response is activated by these micro-injuries, eliminating the damaged tissues and replacing them with healthy, new skin cells. Typically, these new cells will be closer to the natural skin tone.

Laser skin lightening treatments can be particularly effective if you just want to reduce discoloration in a small area or on a few smaller spots. Laser therapy may also be recommended as a follow up for other melasma treatments like chemical peels, microneedling, and microdermabrasion

Joint PRP

PRP is injected directly into damaged areas, such as a joint, muscle, ligament, tendon or bursa.

PRP may be used systemically to improve well-being, recovery and for anti-aging purposes

Joint PRP is flexible and can be tailored to your condition and how quickly you want to recover.

PRP is prepared as per protocol.

Joint PRP is also particularly valuable for the treatment of small joints such as finger, toe or temporomandibular joints (jaw joints) because it is more concentrated in growth hormone, which means only a small volume of PRP is required and injections are less painful.

Scar Treatments

Treatments can reduce a scar’s size or appearance, but the scar will never completely go away. Some treatments prevent a scar from forming as a wound heals. Scar treatments include:

Micro needling helps to regrow collagen and elastin within the scar. Promotes healing. As the name suggests, microneedling uses fine needles that prick your skin. During the skin-pricking process, your skin produces more collagen in an effort to heal the small wounds from the needles. The theory is that new collagen that’s formed will help smooth out your skin’s appearance, helping to fill in fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. To that end, skin needling may be used for:

  • Burn scars
  • Acne scars
  • <Melasma
  • Sun damage
  • Stretch marks
  • Sagging skin
  • Large pores
  • Hair loss

Dr Taby injects medication directly into the scar, making it smaller and flatter. Corticosteroid injections can reduce the size of keloid scars.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment is a procedure for correcting a number of skin conditions, including acne scarring, by using the healing properties of a patient’s own blood

A common acne scar treatment, dermabrasion removes the top layer of skin by gently “sanding” the skin. The procedure softens and smooths the skin and can improve the appearance of scars.

An elastic bandage, dressing or stocking puts pressure on a wound during the healing process. The pressure prevents a scar from forming or decreases its size. Massage therapy can also help break up scar tissue and allow it to remodel.

Several types of laser and light treatments can make scars (including acne scars) less noticeable.
